American Blues

I was living in the desert at the time. Or maybe I was moving through the south. Either way, I saw a lot of pistols on hips. I was on a farm for a while, digging postholes. I stayed in a few motels. I would drive my truck and put down the tailgate in random parking lots and play my slide. I saw a lot of life pass by. This song just kind of came out of that period.
